Rubys Worry- All About Us

In the first few weeks of Reception class we have been exploring the story 'Ruby's Worry'. We have been learning about the character and the journey she goes on with her worry. We have written letters to Ruby and draw pictures of ways best to help deal with her worry. We even got a letter back!!! We have learnt about our own feelings and the 'Zones of Regulation'. We have been learning all about us and our bodies with a role play doctors area. We have been leaning about families in the small world doll's house and home corner. In the art area we have been drawing round shapes to imitate Picasso's Cubist Faces art. In the playdough area we have been building faces and matching the feeling to the correct zone of regulation.  

Welly Walk- Autumn 

On welly walk we have been looking for signs of Autumn in our local community. We have enjoyed seeing weather change. conkers, autumn leaves and trees loosing their leaves. 

Pre-writing skills

We have enjoyed strengthening our fine motor skills. We have been threading, wrapping and weaving. We have been learning how to hold a pencil correctly and how to sit to be ready to write. We have been enjoying some early mark making.
