Materials

Class 2 have been learning all about every day materials! We were challenged to sort a bag of objects from around school by their material, deciding if they are made from wood, plastic, metal, glass or fabric. We have also begun to describe some properties of materials, including whether they are rough, smooth, hard, soft, transparent or opaque.

Multi-Sports

Class 2 had lots of fun at the Sports Centre competing against other schools in Multi-Sports. We dribbled footballs, bounced basket balls, raced a hopskotch, scored penalties, balanced quoits and ran hurdles. The children worked very hard and had a fantastic time.

Numbers to 100

Class 2 have been busy exploring and making numbers to 100 using Base 10. We have learned how to split our numbers into tens and ones.

Experiment 
We have been learning about the importance of keeping ourselves clean to prevent germs from spreading. We carried out an experiment with pepper and water to see how germs behave when we use soap. Then we played a game called 'Pass the Germ' while singing 'Ring a Ring o' Roses' to show how germs can be passed from one person to another.
