Feelings and Emotions
We have had a lovely start to the new term in Owls learning all about emotions and feelings through the Colour Monster story. We have been busy in the provision learning to recognise and sort colours, exploring colours and colour mixing, making our own monsters with play dough and loose parts, drawing and talking about our own feelings and listening to music and expressing how it makes us feel.
Pumpkin Soup
This week we have been reading 'Pumpkin Soup.' We made our own pumpkin soup, slicing and peeling the vegetables. When we tasted the pumpkin soup we thought it was delicious - just like the story! We developed our fine motor skills, hammering the golf tees into the pumpkins and filling and pouring in the water tray. We enjoyed retelling the story with the small world animals and used some fantastic story language.
Busy Builders
We have been 'busy builders' this week, using the blocks and junk modelling resources to construct our models.
World Space Week
As it is World Space Week, we have been reading 'Whatever Next' by Jill Murphy and have been busy in the provision making rocket pictures using 2D shapes, building space ships using junk modelling materials, counting beads and matching the correct quantity to the numeral and using the props to retell the story together.
